Proverbs 1:8 explanation

In Proverbs 1:8 the scripture says that,

"My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother."
proverbs 1:8

Here scripture states that we should obey our parents. But what if our parents preaches wrong teachings. Should we need to obey it?
If we read the original Hebrew bible the word law was written as Torah (תוֹרָה). Torah is the set of doctrines and law given by God to Moses. If we compare the word Torah with proverbs 1:8, we can understand that we should not forsake the God's law which are taught by our mother. Moreover scripture clearly states that,

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right."
Ephesians 6:1

Therefore from the above explanation it is understood that we should obey our parents in Christ Jesus.
